How can I purchase a Duke University Press book? Duke University Press titles can be ordered by secure server on our Web site or by phone or mail. Please visit our ordering instructions page for information on placing an order. Duke University Press books are also available from your local bookseller (if the book is not in stock, please ask them to order it for you) and many online retailers. You may also check on the status of your previous order. If you are a current customer, you can change your address via our Web site. Note

can I obtain a desk or exam copy Click for information and procedures for requesting examination copies and desk copies for classroom use. How do I request a copy of a book to review? Click for procedures for requesting a review copy of a Duke University Press title. If your request is not designated as urgent, you can expect to receive your review copy within 4–6 weeks. If the book you have requested has not yet been published, we will add you to the review list for that book, and you’ll receive a copy shortly after the book arrives in our warehouse. Please note that we are unable to send most review copies via airmail, so it will take longer to reach you if you do not live in the United States. If you are a freelancer, we prefer that your editor request a review copy on your behalf on publication letterhead. If this is not possible, please fax or mail clips of previous reviews and let us know where you hope to place your review. We will evaluate each request individually. If you do not have access to a fax, you may send an e-mail to bpublicity@dukeupress.edu. Please be prepared to provide sample copies of your publication or review clippings upon request. How do I get in touch with a Duke author? We do not give our author home addresses or phone numbers. Recent authors might have university affiliations or Web pages, which you can use to get in touch with them. Otherwise, you can send us a letter, and we will forward it.
