Submission guidelines for GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies
Submit essays to glq@austin.utexas.edu as electronic attachments in Microsoft Word. All e-mails should be addressed to Managing Editor, GLQ. Do not submit previously published articles without the permission of the editors. Do not simultaneously offer your article to another publication. All lines should be double-spaced (including lines in the notes), with 1.5-inch left and right margins. Articles should not exceed 12,000 words. To maintain anonymity in the review process, put names, affiliations, and mailing addresses on a separate title page. Citations to an author's own works should be made in a way that does not compromise anonymity. GLQ uses The Chicago Manual of Style, fifteenth edition, as its main reference. The journal uses endnotes (without a bibliography) for documentation. The first citation to a work is a full citation; subsequent citations are shortened (i.e., last name, short title, page number). Follow Chicago, chapter 16, for the form of all citations. Indexed/abstracted in the following: Academic Search Premier, Alternative Press Index, Current Abstracts, Current Contents/Social and Behavioral Sciences, Expanded Academic ASAP, Humanities Abstracts, Humanities Full Text, Humanities Index, Humanities International Complete, Humanities International Index, International Bibliography of Periodical Literature (IBZ), LGBT Life, Literature Online, Magazines for Libraries, MLA Bibliography, OmniFile Full Text V, OmniFile Full Text, Mega Edition, Periodicals Index Online, Research Library, Scopus, Sexual Diversity Studies, Social Sciences Citation Index, SocINDEX, Sociological Abstracts, Student Resource Center College with Expanded Academic ASAP.
