Pricing What is my institution’s
price based on? What will my institution’s price be in 2008? For 2008 subscriptions, once Duke University Press
has reliable 2006 usage statistics from HighWire
Press, Duke will use usage quartiles in combination with the current
tiered pricing to determine e-Duke Scholarly Collection rates.
For 2005 Collection subscribers only: As a result
of the change in the 2006 pricing structure, some subscribers from 2005
may experience significant price changes. To prevent significant impact
on institutional budgets, Duke University Press will cap the amount of
increase at $500 per year. What is my institution’s Carnegie Classification? Please visit the Carnegie
Foundation Web site to view your institution’s classification. What is my institution’s tier? An institution’s tier is based upon Carnegie Classification.
How long is a price quotation for the e-Duke Scholarly Collection valid? A quote from Duke University Press for the 2006 e-Duke Scholarly Collection is good through December 31, 2006. Will the quoted prices remain the same going through an agency? Subscription agents and consortia receive a discount off the package pricing. Please see the e-Duke Scholarly Collection information sheet for agent and consortial discounting and terms. If your institution would like to order through a subscription agent or consortium, please contact your subscription agent or consortial representative so that they may request a price quotation. Ordering Information Can my institution order the e-Duke Scholarly Collection through a subscription agent? Absolutely. Subscription agents have been alerted
to the pricing model and will be glad to assist librarians in processing
an order. To place a new or renewal order for the 2006 e-Duke Scholarly Collection, please contact Duke University Press by e-mail at edukecollection@dukeupress.edu, by fax at 919-688-2615, or by phone at 919-688-5134. How do I get the print discount? To receive the print discount off 2006 individual
title subscriptions, institutions must have a current subscription to
the 2006 e-Duke Scholarly Collection. If your institution is ordering
through a subscription agent, please have the subscription agent verify
pricing through Duke University Press before submitting payment. Duke
Press will be providing subscription agents with a list of current package
subscribers. Institutions may also subscribe to both the Collection and
any print add-ons through a subscription agent. Why do I have to
confirm pricing with Duke University Press before submitting payment? Will institutions get an acknowledgement once our payment is processed? Yes. An e-mail acknowledgement will be sent once payment is processed. Site Licensing Will subscription to
the 2006 e-Duke Scholarly Collection require a signed site license agreement? When will
the site license be available? What time period am I paying for? Institutions who purchase the e-Duke Scholarly Collection are purchasing perpetual access to the current year’s content. This will be stated in the forthcoming site license. [Link to site license portion of site]
Access Where will the e-Duke Scholarly Collection be hosted? For 2006, HighWire will host the Collection. Activation will be available to subscribing institutions on December 1, 2005. More information and activation instructions will be forthcoming. [Link to access portion of site] Will institutions have to activate each title in the Collection? No. Activation for the e-Duke Scholarly Collection will be available as a one-click option. Subscribers can activate the e-only collection, which will then activate each title in the collection. Project Muse will continue to host back content to all titles as well as current content for nine titles—American Literary Scholarship, Common Knowledge, Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa and the Middle East, Eighteenth-Century Life, GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies, Mediterranean Quarterly, Pedagogy, positions: east asia cultures critique, and Social Science History. What will happen to the Duke University Press content on Ingenta? On December 31, 2005 Duke content will no longer be hosted on Ingenta. Content will then be available through HighWire.
