Advertising Terms

Before submitting your ad for inclusion in a Duke University Press journal, familiarize yourself with the terms outlined here.

Print Advertising Terms

  1. Advertising content is subject to publisher approval.
  2. Each ad should be clearly marked with the name of the journal and issue in which it is to appear.
  3. Electronic submission of advertisements is preferred.
  4. Invoices and tear sheets will be sent following publication. Terms: 30 days from invoice date.
  5. The publisher's liability for any error will not exceed the cost of the space.
  6. Due to production costs already incurred, reservations that are not cancelled prior to the material closing date will be invoiced for the full amount of the reservation, regardless of whether the advertisement appears in the journal.

Digital Advertising Terms

  1. All digital ads run for three months, with the exception of homepage ads, which run for one month.
  2. All contracts begin on the first of the month.
  3. Advertising content is subject to publisher approval.
  4. If multiple ads are booked for the same slot, all ads will be weighed equally.
  5. Statistics (impressions, clickthroughs) are available upon request at the completion of the campaign.
  6. An invoice and a screenshot will be sent following ad posting. Payment is due 30 days from the invoice date.
