Journal Current volume: 10 Frequency: Quarterly

Beginning with volume 11, 2020, the Annals of Functional Analysis (AFA) will be published by Springer, and new issues will not be available on Project Euclid. Volumes 1 through 10 will remain on Euclid, and Euclid Prime subscribers will have complimentary access to all prior content.

The Annals of Functional Analysis (AFA) is a peer-reviewed quarterly electronic journal publishing papers of high standards with deep results, new ideas, profound impact, and significant implications in all areas of functional analysis and all modern related topics (e.g., operator theory). AFA normally publishes survey articles and original research papers numbering 18 or fewer pages in the journal’s style. Longer papers may be submitted to the Banach Journal of Mathematical Analysis or Advances in Operator Theory.

AFA is published by Duke University Press on behalf of the Tusi Mathematical Research Group.

Longer papers may be submitted to the Banach Journal of Mathematical Analysis or Advances in Operator Theory. Manuscripts should be written in English and typeset with double spacing using AMS-LaTeX. The authors should use the AFA style file that has been developed for LaTeX2e. (A typeset example is available here.) AFA is an author-prepared journal, which means that authors are responsible for using the style file of the AFA to properly format accepted articles. AFA does not accept files in Microsoft Word. Authors should take care of the following items when submitting a manuscript: • Abstract: The abstract should number no more than 200 words and include no reference citations. • 2010 Mathematics Subject Classifications: Include only one Primary classification; if applicable, apply at least one Secondary classification. At least one of the Primary or Secondary classifications should be in MSC43 (abstract harmonic analysis), MSC46 (functional analysis), or MSC47 (operator theory). • Keywords: Provide 3–5 keywords that best describe the subject of the paper. • Authors: Provide full names, mailing addresses, and e-mail addresses for all authors within the paper. Only one author should be the corresponding author. • Figures and supplemental files: Provide all figures and any other supplemental files needed to process the paper. • Typesetting environments: Typeset each theorem, proposition, corollary, lemma, definition, example, etc. in its respective environment, such as begin{theorem} . . . end{theorem}. • Margins: A long formula should be broken into two or more lines. Extra line and word spaces in the text should be removed. • Tags (formula numbers): Equations in the text must be labeled by \label{A}. References to them must be typeset using \eqref{A}. Unused tags must be removed. Manual numbering of equations or sections must be avoided. • Acknowledgments: Place acknowledgments, if there are any, near the end of the paper, preceding the references. • References: Use \cite{B} to refer to the specific book/paper “B” in the text. Remove unused references. References should be listed in alphabetical order according to the surnames of the first author at the end of the paper and should be cited in the text as, for example, [2] or [3, Theorem 4.2]. • Abbreviations: Abbreviations of titles of periodicals/books should follow the format used Mathematical Reviews: see Abbreviations of Names of Serials or MR Lookup. • Citations: Authors are expected to limit references and self-references in their papers to the minimum number necessary. • Submission Authors should submit their manuscripts online using the Editorial Manager system at www.editorialmanager.com/aofa. Register at the site to create a username and password; then log in as “Author.” A tutorial is available at the site. Submissions sent directly to one of the journal’s editors will not be accepted. Referee process Submitted manuscripts must be correct, original, well written, in the scope of journal, and with deep results. If the language used is very poor, then the manuscript will be rejected. A submitted paper will be refereed in the traditional way by at least one referee. AFA tries to make the decision within four months after submission, but this primarily depends on the referees. If you have not received a notice of the decision after four months, kindly send a reminder to the editor-in-chief by e-mail. If necessary, the corresponding author will be asked to revise the manuscript according to the referee report(s). The editorial board reserves the right to make reasonable modifications to the wording in a manuscript. Page proofs The page proofs of each paper will be sent to the corresponding author, who is responsible for checking and approving the article on behalf of all coauthors. A limited number of typographical corrections are anticipated and extensive revisions may be reviewed again. Articles will be published online as they are completed and will be assigned to a volume and issue at a later date. Authors will receive a PDF file of their paper in the final published format with final volume, issue, and page numbers. Publication fees There is no publication or page fee associated with this journal, unless the authors would like to publish their paper open access. The article processing charge for this service is US$1,000 per article.

By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the copyright for their paper is transferred to both the Tusi Mathematical Research Group and Duke University Press, if and when the paper is accepted for publication.

Publishing ethics

The publishers are obliged to assist the mathematics community in publishing ethics. No paper that has been previously published, that has been copyrighted, or that is being considered for publication elsewhere should be submitted to AFA. Nor may a paper that is under consideration by the AFA be submitted elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the authors confirm that there is no plagiarism and duplicate submission.
