Duke University Press is proud to be the new home for the Lewis Henry Morgan Lectures, the most significant annual lecture in cultural anthropology. The Department of Anthropology at the University of Rochester established the Lewis Henry Morgan Lectures in 1963. The distinguished lecturers have been among the top names in anthropology, ranging from Meyer Fortes and Victor Turner to Emily Martin, Lila Abu-Lughod, and Paul Farmer.
