2025 Pricing Updates from Duke University Press

July 10, 2024

For immediate release

Durham, North Carolina—Duke University Press (DUP) 2025 pricing for individual journal titles and book and journal collections is now available online at dukeupress.edu/libraries. Scholarly Publishing Collective pricing for single titles and publisher collections is also available at scholarlypublishingcollective.org/pages/for_librarians.

Duke University Press Journal Updates

We are pleased to announce the addition of two new titles to our journal program. Federal Sentencing Reporter, published four times annually starting with the 2025 volume, explores the complex sector of sentencing law, practice, and theory. New Political Science: A Journal of Politics and Culture, the official journal of the Caucus for a Critical Political Science, focuses on developing analysis which reflects commitment to progressive social change. Published four times per year, New Political Science adopts the broadest possible definition of “politics” and holds that political and cultural development cannot be understood in isolation from each other.

Federal Sentencing Reporter and New Political Science will both be included in the e-Duke Journals Expanded collection. In 2024, DUP introduced QTR: A Journal of Trans and Queer Studies in Religion, also included in e-Duke Journals Expanded.

Duke University Press will no longer handle subscription orders, claims, and queries for Annals of Mathematics beginning with calendar year 2025. All orders, claims, and customer queries for the 2025 volume should be directed to the Annals of Mathematics offices at Annals-orders@princeton.edu. Other inquiries can be directed to Annals@princeton.edu. DUP will still receive and process orders for the 2024 volume through the end of the current calendar year. After December 31, 2024, all orders for any back volume or issues should also go through the Annals of Mathematics offices.

Duke University Press e-Book Collection Updates

We are offering three new e-book subject collections for institutional purchase.

  • The Environmental Humanities collection of 123 titles intermingles key areas of environmental study with a wide variety of humanities disciplines.  The collection includes classic areas of environmental studies, such as anthropology and geography; incorporates areas of environmental humanities, including literary studies, philosophy, ecology, Indigenous studies, and race; and explores fields that are growing in popularity, including multispecies interactions, energy studies, environmental media, and oceanic studies.
  • The LGBTQIA+ Studies collection of 263 titles, as a subset of the Gender Studies collection, exemplifies Duke Press’s long standing relationship with queer theory. These titles exemplify not only Duke Press’s long standing relationship with queer theory but also its commitment to growing and expanding the areas of study with which queer theory intersects.
  • The Transgender Studies collection of 23 titles, as a subset of the Gender Studies and LGBTQIA+ Studies collections, focuses specifically on trans experiences and perspectives on various spheres of life. As one of the first presses to publish books in this area, DUP is proud to expand on early transgender studies that emerged primarily from sociological and historical perspectives, offering a collection that is distinctly bold, theoretically informed, broadly interdisciplinary, and culturally influential in its study of transness in the modern world.
