Entrenchment and Health Equity

This special issue covers how legal frameworks and political arrangements can “entrench” power, with significant consequences for health equity and the welfare of historically marginalized groups. The contributors explore how states use preemption power to amplify economic inequities, how patterns of residential segregation mediate COVID-19 health outcomes, and how the pharmaceutical industry exercises material and ideational power, among other topics.
