This issue about generations includes three different scholarly takes on family and reproduction in the Middle East. The photograph featured on the issue’s cover relates to the first article, a reflection on memory, family, and the archive, which is coauthored by Munira Khayyat, Yasmine Khayyat, and Rola Khayyat and is now freely available. The other two articles, one by Delfina Serrano-Ruano and the other coauthored by L.L. Wynn and Angel M. Foster, explore DNA testing in the Maghreb and fatwas about emergency contraception, respectively. Essays by Ellen Amster, Wilson Chacko Jacob, Ghiwa Sayegh, and Yasmin Shafei cover reproductive technologies, writing about revolution and the “Feminism in Crisis” conference. Third Space contributions in this issue discuss feminist organizing, the environment, an art exhibition about motherhood, and reproductive health from several perspectives.
