In this special issue, contributors analyze the potential of health policy to affect the public’s health and their political engagement—both of which could, in turn, influence the trajectory of political actions in response, public beliefs about the role of government, and public demand for new health policies in the future. These factors are particularly important in relation to vulnerable populations, the contributors argue, including Americans with disabilities and the predominantly poor.
