Frequently asked questions:
Can I get a PDF of my articles?
There are several ways you can obtain a PDF of your article. If you or your institution subscribes to the journal online, you can download the file directly. If you do not have subscriber access, you can buy pay-per-view access to a single article through the journal's online home page. To see where your journal is hosted online, please see our titles. When sharing your work, always provide a link to your article rather than the PDF, as libraries use usage metrics to evaluate their holdings.
Can I post my article in an institutional repository?
Duke University Press publication agreements may grant the author the right to use the article for noncommercial purposes. This includes the right to post an article on a personal website or in an institutional repository. Please read the specific wording in the publication agreement that you signed. For journal articles, we allow posting of the final manuscript but not the published PDF. We also require that the repository provide a link to the final version of the article. For more information about sharing articles, visit our Share Your Article page.
Do I get a discount on single issues or books as a contributor, special issue editor, or academic editor of a journal?
Contributors and special issue editors receive a 40 percent discount on single copies of the issue in which they appeared. Academic editors receive a 40 percent discount on single issues of their journal. There are no discounts available for book purchases by contributors, special issue editors, or academic editors. Peer reviewers also receive a discount.
