How can I claim the sale discount?
Customers in the United States, Central and South America should enter coupon code SPRING26 on the Shipping & Billing Details page at the Duke University Press website. The coupon code extends a 40% discount on your order. In celebration of our Centennial Year, when you order subtotal $100.00 or more the coupon will extend a 50% discount. You do not need a separate code to redeem the extra 10% discount.

To redeem, enter SPRING26 in the coupon code box below the order summary at checkout and click the apply button. The coupon is valid from April 29–May 19, 2026.

Customers in Canada may place orders directly with the University of Toronto Press using the SPRING26 coupon code. Books are shipped from Canada, significantly improving delivery times.

Customers outside of North, South, and Central America may use coupon code SPRING26 when placing their orders for Duke University Press titles at Mare Nostrum Group (MNG). No other presses are included in MNG’s offer. We strongly encourage customers in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific to order from MNG as shipping times will be greatly reduced.

What items are included in the sale?

All in-stock books (print editions) and journal single issues are eligible for the discount. Duke University Press accepts pre-orders on books within 5 months of publication. Look for “Availability: Pre-Order” below the buy button and a release date on the product page to identify titles eligible for pre-publication order. You may also use coupon code SPRING26 on titles in pre-order status.

MNG accepts pre-orders on titles within four months of publication.

Discounts may not be combined with other offers. The discount is not available on journal subscriptions or society memberships. The discount is only available on titles published by Duke University Press.

How can I pay?

All orders must be prepaid by credit card. Duke University Press accepts VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. If you need expedited shipping, please place your order by calling (888) 651-0122 as additional charges will be incurred.

MNG also accepts VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.

University of Toronto Press accepts VISA and MasterCard. All orders must be prepaid unless the customer has an account with UTP.

Does the special sale only include books?

No. You may purchase in-stock single issues of our journals at the earned discount level as well. Journal subscriptions and society memberships are excluded from the sale.

Is there a limit to the number of items I can order?

Duke University Press does not place a limit on the number of items that can be ordered. MNG has a limit of 15 items per order. Customers wanting to order more than 15 copies should email enquiries@mare-nostrum.co.uk before placing an order for a courier shipping quote.

How are orders shipped?

Most domestic orders for books are shipped via USPS media mail from the Duke University Press warehouse in Jackson, TN, and are dispatched within a few business days (increased order volume during website sales may affect processing times). Once your order has shipped from the Duke University Press warehouse, you will receive an email with tracking information.

If the book you ordered is not in stock in our Durham warehouse, it will be produced and shipped from our print-on-demand facility. It will arrive separately and there will not be tracking information. These orders may take up to 10 business days to be printed and shipped from the facility.

Journal issues ship from a third-party warehouse. If it is not in stock, it will be produced and shipped as print-on-demand if the electronic file is available. Most journal issues from 2010 forward are available for print-on-demand.

International orders may take as long as 1-2 months to arrive. International transit within North America usually takes about 4-6 weeks. Our default method of international shipping does not offer exact tracking.

If you order a title that is in pre-order status from the University of Toronto Press, it will ship within a few days of the book’s arrival in the UTP warehouse. Shipping times from that date will depend on your location.

MNG – University Presses maintains inventory in England and ships from the UK—thereby significantly reducing transit times to customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. What if my order arrived but is missing one or more items?

The missing items are likely to be sent from a print-on-demand facility. Print-on-demand books usually take 1-2 weeks to produce and ship. Journal issues will arrive separately via periodical mail and may take up to 4-6 weeks to arrive. If you are concerned about whether the missing items are in transit, please contact our customer relations department on (888) 651-0122.

I am not sure if the payment for my order was successfully processed. What should I do?

If the order was successfully placed, you will receive a payment confirmation email. Please contact our customer relations department if you are unsure if payment was processed. Do not submit your order again.
