Although Trans Studies has extensively engaged gender categories that are embedded in religious systems, it has largely ignored the category of religion. In turn, Religious Studies has classically evinced deep hostility in trans subjects. This issue of TSQ is wholly dedicated to the intersection of trans and religion: by pushing the boundaries of both Trans Studies and Religious Studies, its contributors reimagine the relationship between these two fields.
