Book Funds

Authors Fund

Our book publishing program is not self-supporting, unfortunately. We rely on several forms of fundraising, including royalty donations, to sustain our cutting-edge publications. 

Over the past two decades, over 150 Duke University Press authors have donated their royalties to one of our four book funds: 

1. The First Book Fund
2. The Translation Fund 
3. The Lauren Berlant Fund for Utopian Thought
4. The World Readers Fund

If you wish to contribute your royalties to one of our Book Funds, please contact James Moore, our Development Coordinator. Royalty donations have the added benefit of reducing the administrative burden on the Press, as well as the tax paperwork of our authors.
