Science, Technology, Mobility, and Modernity in French and Francophone Histories

This special issue brings together articles on public bathrooms and gaslights in Paris with studies that trace the flow of automobiles, taxidermied specimens, and scientific knowledge through the French Empire. Together these histories of science and technology in France and its empire illuminate major themes in early modern and modern French history, including mobilities and modernities.
